I got excited when I saw these but haven't really had much time lately...
The color looks like pencils or pastels! What are you using, if you don't mind? I love the abstract shapes and textures with the color choice. The new closure is cool and very compact; sounds like a lot of work smoothing down the straps, though. Clean cuts and smooth lines as always. Great work!
Mostly dyes and acrylics. I did a base coat of primary colour dyes - something sort of like a stained glass window - but that came out fuggly. Then I did some dry-brushing with a rather diluted black dye and some iridescent acrylics to get a more unified feel and finished the piece with some spray sheen.
The rather nice thing about this kind of closing feature is that you can have a bunch of bracers made up with just the straps and slots then tailor-fit the metal bits and their holes to the person in under 2 minutes.
I like "fuggly." Sounds more silly than euphemistic. I thought the closure looked very efficient, but sweet jebus. Nice thinking. Thanks for the reply, I can see how the color worked together now, I think...
