Entwined

Here's a little something I started last semester but got a little tucked away. Since St. Patty's Day was coming up I thought it might be a nice piece to finish, and it turned out a little different than how it started (boys vs snake). This is also my first venture into using Illustrator, and dang there's some nice things there. I'm not sure if it made doing the scales on the snake any less time-consuming but it did make it easier to colour. Throw in a twisted ditty inspired by Ursula LeGuin, an Uroborus and boom: happy yaoi fans everywhere.

Hah, one can dream.

Concept: 4hrs
Lineart: 7 hrs
Colour: 2.5 hrs - boys, 6 hrs - circle, 9 hrs - snake

total time spent: 'bout 30 hrs more or less

edit: resubmitted - 'cause black goes a wee bit better with it, don'tcha think? (If anyone knows how to get rid of the background altogether, please let me know!)
