From the Ashes

My first traditional painting on canvas had the honor of being commissioned for friend and filmmaker Robert Camina (CaminaEntertainment.com) who this year finished production on his historic and critically acclaimed documentary, the Raid of the Rainbow Lounge. Chronicling the events surrounding 2009's raid on a Texas gay bar exactly forty years after the Stonewall Riots, Raid presents a moving disclosure of those lives most touched by one night of mayhem and the social changes both won and yet to be achieved for LGBT human rights.

This painting featuring the skyline of Ft. Worth in silhouette was created for one of Robert's fundraiser auctions carried out in late 2010. I am proud to say my contribution helped him get through the diligent years required to see Raid make it through production which has won him recognition not only locally but on the national, international, and historic levels as well!
