Tarot Case - Cosmic Guardian

I love commissions that allow me to play around. This case, designed for the evocative Cosmic Tribe Tarot represents my first excursion into incorporating gemstones, filigree-over-brass, and tooling all within the same piece. Given the "Cosmic" theme I wanted to do no less. The Paua shells and blue goldstone fit the bill perfectly, and the eye/spiral mandalla presented a good excuse to elaborate upon the filigree anchor rivets with abalone-coloured rhinestones. I was surprised at how persnickety acquiring a setting for the goldstone turned out. A second trip to the gem store saved me a wire-wrapping headache!
